Position Specific Description
We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable candidate with advanced problem-solving skills to join the Data Team within Distributed Generation at NextEra Energy. This is a hybrid work role, where you will start by maintaining and troubleshooting our existing PowerBI dashboards and data flows. As our new cloud-based database comes online, you will have the opportunity to grow into a more technical role in data analytics, data management, and data science.
Job Responsibilities
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing PowerBI reports and data flows.
• Act as first line of support for broken data connection and report inconsistencies.
• Generate interactive visualizations that summarize and present data in a structured manner, creating visualizations and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators or trends.
• Effectively collaborate across the organization, working with key departmental stakeholders to understand data needs, ensure accurate and timely data reporting that positively impacts the organization.
• Work with existing data sets to gather insights and provide reporting based on predetermined metrics.
• Identify areas for improvement with existing process and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Perform data analysis tasks, including data cleaning, data extraction, basic statistical analysis.
• Work with Data Scientist to support the transition to new cloud based central databases. Once database is complete develop your skills sets in SQL, Python and automation to support with analytics.
• Respond to requests, develop solutions, and solve complex problems.
• Use knowledge of business processes to identify interdependencies and gaps in reporting.
• Create and update documentation on current processes and best practices.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Required Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency with PowerBI or other visualization platforms
• Strong Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, and SQL is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to explain process and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. You enjoy figuring out what failed and how to fix it.
• Demonstrated logic-based thinking and programming skill sets.
• Able to manage and prioritize tasks, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (Azure, AWS).
• Experience with Python is a plus, but not required. Should have a willingness to learn if required for future projects.
• Experience within Renewable Energy Industry is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, STEM)

Job Overview
This position works with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and analytic systems that help end users analyze data in a data warehouse, data mart or other data storage facility. Employees in this role manage the data extraction, transformation, movement, loading, cleansing, and updating processes. Individuals utilize their knowledge of the business data, BI tools, and their use to facilitate in-depth business process analyses.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements and integrates BI applications into technical infrastructure and existing business processes, including reporting, dashboards and analytical data structures
• Provides functional guidance to business unit personnel, and develops end user training and business-orientated metadata definitions
• Designs and writes the scripts required to extract, transform, clean, and move data and metadata
• Participates in the change management and service ticket management processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Works with application vendor as well as licensing of the application
• Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems
• Ensures that systems and processes (including those of external service providers) comply with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and other applicable policies, standards, and legislation.
• Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed
• Meets daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The estimated base pay for this position is $85,600.00 to $128,400.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
