Job Description

 

The IE Systems Summer/Fall Co-Op (June to December) is a high impact, high contribution and high visibility position in a dynamic operations excellence, factory automation and Industry 4.0 related technical projects in high volume/high technology environment. In this role, you will assist for a site-specific project of multiple factory automation and development projects from initial phases through production deployment. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop understanding of high volume, high technology wafer fab manufacturing and learn about the unified operator interface, end-user needs.
  • Engage in Fab automation, directing tool modeling optimization, engaging in other fab automation projects and plans that related to semi-dark fab revolution.
  • Assist in documenting and analyzing current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement, bottlenecks, quality issues, waste reduction, and process optimization.
  • Help create and maintain process documentation, workflow charts, and reports on current status and improvement progress.
  • Engage in Planning, directing schedules and monitoring various tasks and subtasks of projects and drive the activity through completion.
  • Develop skills, techniques and methodologies for monitoring the projects from initiation through delivery/deployment to factories.
  • Organizing the interdepartmental activities and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the above.
  • Resolving technical issues to ensure through cross-system efforts and collaboration and readiness, including but not limited to:
  • Factory coordination and testing/validations transfers to wafer fab factory
  • MES pre-work and other end-user hardware readiness
  • Request tool time and arrange for availability and setup testing with PE, EE, Ops and CIM
  • Test solution validation and correlation progress and coordinate for production deployment  
  • Chairing weekly and bi-weekly team meetings, driving critical path tasks and performing risk mitigation for development, testing and deployment 
  • Tracking project schedules in PPM Pro
  • Holding lessons learned and ensuring continuous improvements of our core processes 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelors/Master of Science (Industrial and Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Management and any other related engineering field)
  • Knowledge in Python, VBA, Machine learning methods is preferred
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex processes and data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Eager to Learn: Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and software related to manufacturing and process improvement.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
