Compensation includes a base salary of $87,200.00 - $130,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Business Intelligence Senior Analyst provides timely performance and optimization-related insights, reporting and advanced analytics solutions for internal and retail clients who are using Cox Automotive’s portfolio of transactional products and capabilities. This person will leverage first and second party data to provide actionable, strategic insights and recommendations to improve retail transactional performance and drive quality decision making within the Program teams in a growing segment within the automotive industry.

This individual contributor role, reporting to Director of Business Intelligence will work directly with Business Operations, Performance Management, Sales and Product Marketing stakeholders as well as Retail Clients to understand goals and opportunities to improve program and client performance and creatively use analytics and optimization tactics to recommend areas to remove friction points and optimize to increase transactional growth and program performance.

The Business Intelligence Senior Analyst will be empowered to lead key analytics projects end-to-end including insights development and performance recommendations, reporting, and advanced business intelligence solutions. They will be responsible for ensuring the organization and clients receive high quality insights and analytics solutions for use in decision making. A successful candidate should have experience working with stakeholders at various levels in the organization and influencing decision makers through reports, presentations, and informal discussions.

**This hybrid position is located in Atlanta, GA; Burlington, VT; or Irvine, CA. Core work hours are 9 am-5 pm Eastern time with up to 5% yearly travel.** This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Partners with internal and client stakeholders to lead and execute the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions such as ad hoc analysis, reporting solutions and advanced analytics tools to drive decision making.
  • Presents client insights to internal teams to highlight optimization opportunities and drive program-level recommendations to grow client usage of the portfolio of transactional products and capabilities.
  • Designs, conducts and leads processes that facilitate complex analyses that mine, extract, track, report and analyze performance metrics and other data source systems and summarize findings.
  • Collaborates with different departments and defines requirements to grow and improve our reporting and analytics suite. Creates self-service methods for stakeholders to take advantage of these offerings.
  • Leveraging data warehouse systems such as Snowflake and Microsoft Azure and uses advanced statistical methods to analyze data from multiple data sources to create data-backed optimization recommendations, claims and proof points.
  • Partners with key stakeholders and Analytics teams to create KPI frameworks, segmentation methodologies and measurement strategies to accurately represent business and product performance.
  • Establishes innovative strategies to understand and solve complex analytics problems: reach valuable data driven insights, through the discovery of patterns and trends.
  • Identifies business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Works with other cross-functional partners to standardize data collection methods and governance routines to ensure data is timely and accurate.
  • Monitors industry developments in the Analytics and insights industry and performance analysis trends in automotive to ensure we are leveraging the best-in-class analytics methods and solutions to add value

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years experience in web analytics, reporting and retail analytics/eCommerce. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years experience in web analytics, reporting and retail analytics/eCommerce
  • Analytics background in strategy consulting, business operations, product management or have held a similar embedded internal analytics consultant role.
  • Proficient in performing data discovery and cleansing routines to create insights from multiple and disparate data sources.
  • Advanced expertise in working in SQL and advanced knowledge of data warehousing and data lakes (e.g. Snowflake, Hadoop, Hive, Google BigQuery and/or AWS Redshift, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Python or R for advanced statistical analysis.
  • Experience with building and maintaining a robust set of reporting and dashboards in business intelligence & data visualization systems (e.g. Microstrategy, Microsoft Power BI, Google Looker and/or Tableau).
  • Ability to perform basic statistical analysis (descriptive, variance, regression, probability, etc.) and general understanding of advanced statistics.
  • Skilled at condensing analysis into actionable insights to inform business decisions and influence / transform business performance; understand business models and high-level strategy.
  • Skilled at translating strategies and solutions into impactful presentations and communicating with purpose to gain buy in.
  • Ability to consult and influence leaders as a Subject Matter Expert for the best outcomes to drive broad business successes.
  • Experience successfully collaborating on complex analytics projects involving a matrix of cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to put together clear, compelling narratives that drive decisions with senior executives from Director to Vice President.
  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes in order to meet business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Business Analytics.
  • Skilled at bringing stakeholders together to lead development of KPI frameworks and educate stakeholders on best practices to use metrics for business decision making.
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholders’ needs and recognize the opportunity to provide proactive solution recommendations.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt readily and easily to changes in priorities and business conditions.
