Job Description:

The Regulatory Affairs division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Market Data Reporting Analyst. The position will provide excellent support and analysis to State Insurance Departments for Complaints and Regulatory Actions.  Ensure data integrity of supplied information.  Assist states in the reconciliation of data anomalies to support quality data. This position is based out of the NAIC’s Kansas City, MO office. This is a full-time hybrid-remote position, in a positive and flexible environment. Residency within 100 miles of the Kansas City, Missouri office is required, along with in-office work as scheduled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough analysis and correspond with state contacts to ensure data files are accurate, loaded on time, communicate correctly and are of high quality to prevent errors or anomalies, identify and resolve any issues.
  • Build simple SQL queries independently and write complex queries as needed to complete data analysis and recommend system modification to increase the quality of the collected data.
  • Gather and document state-specific information regarding states procedures for handling MIS data and corresponding biographic and demographic data.
  • Advise and provide knowledge of market conduct processes, requirements, and reporting to members and staff, and operate the Market Regulation MCAS Help Desk by answering questions and escalating issues.
  • Participate in testing phases as required, and ensure the development and validations are working as expected.  
  • Complete assigned tasks as per instructions, following standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations and data. 
  • Collaborate and communicate as necessary with colleagues and immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the team/group, developing stable working relationships internally.

  • No direct reports.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required

Typically has a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of position related progressive professional, individual contributor experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Similar years of statutory accounting and reporting experience.

Systems & Technology Requirements

Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook; SQL+; must be able to write and interpret SQL queries.

Travel

Must be able and willing to travel to locations throughout the United States and with such frequency as necessary to meet the needs of this position and the Association.

Compensation

$55,229 - $65,489, commensurate with education and experience.
