- Working with GEHC technical lead on collaborative projects with academic partners providing technical expertise and support for projects with internal and external collaborators.
- Conduct original research resulting in patent applications and scientific publications
- Combine knowledge of MRI, engineering, and clinical needs to design and develop new MR applications or capabilities towards imaging of the brain and spine and imaging biomarkers, neuroscience research, automation & simplification of an MR exam, and improving the reliability from patient setup, data acquisition to image analysis and interpretation.
- Develop these features as prototypes and release to external GEHC collaborators following GE MR design controls.
- Work with a cross-functional team of engineers and GEHC and external scientists on academic grant.
- Work with a cross-functional team of engineers and scientists to translate promising prototypes into product and lead technical/clinical risk retirement towards new product introduction.
- Provide support for GE marketing effort such as GEHC MR Signa Pulse articles in collaboration with internal and external collaborators.
- Use broad expertise in MR systems and applications to help resolve quality issues both with product as well as research prototypes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. Degree in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math or Physics
- 5+ years of professional experience in medical imaging or related field.
- Experience in MR research such as pulse sequence design or image reconstruction.
- Strong background in Image reconstruction and data/image analysis. Excellent coding skills and ability to quickly prototype in C++.
- Willing to travel 15% of time
Desired Characteristics
- Familiarity with GEHC MR Systems and research, EPIC Pulse Sequence Development environment and GEHC Orchestra Reconstruction environment.
- Experience in application of Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence to medical imaging.
- Experience in Machine Learning development libraries such as TensorFlow and Keras and programming in Python.
- Strong writing, presentation, communication skills and strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Can-do attitude, flexible, intellectually curious, willing to work with cross-functional, global team.
