Information and Communications Technology is responsible for the provision of ICT services across the organisation through business solutions, infrastructure/systems integration, spatial information systems, project management, internal ICT customer service and strategy delivery.

About the role

The ICT Data & Visualisation Analyst role at Penrith City Council focuses on leveraging data to drive business decisions, particularly through a significant 4-year ERP program aimed at integrating and automating processes. This position is a temporary 4 year fixed contract opportunity. 

Essential criteria

  • A tertiary qualification in spatial science, computer science, statistics, Information Technology, Business, or a relevant field
  • A proven understanding of the principals of data management and administration
  • Experience with administering and supporting GIS solutions and Data Management Systems.
  • Experience in managing data collection, translation, integration, maintenance, and spatial visualisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current and emerging information and communication technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organisational levels and disciplines.
  • An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable criteria

  • Experience with local government related software
  • Experience in the preparation of system specifications and documentation
  • Skills in new technology evaluation, product and vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and procurement management.

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $103,939.00 to $120,314.00 per annum, plus 11.5% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
