Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer Co-op Internship (5 - 6 Months Full time)

State Street’s Automation and Artificial Intelligence organization is a strategic global team. We were formed under the direction of the management committee of the company. We have the mission to explore, enable and exploit artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, cognitive computing and intelligent automation at scale for countless use cases across all of the State Street business lines. Our team has a vast array of experience and expertise across a wide range of technologies and skills including robotic process automation, quantitative modeling, data science, machine learning, financial engineering, cloud computing and software engineering. Our team has built solutions for investment and risk management related domains such as market movement, sentiment analysis, valuation, investment strategy, fund innovation as well as many operational and client experience related use cases. Our team engages the business to explore, prototype, and solution use cases while also building out a portfolio of foundational micro services in State Street’s hybrid cloud.

What you will be responsible for:

• Work in/with a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, software, and QA engineers. 
• Engage with line of business users and analysts to explore and prototype opportunities and use-cases exploiting data and machine learning.
• Design, develop, test and support services to operationalize deployment of resulting models and cognitive solutions.  

What we value:

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

• Formal education in Data Science, statistics, or specialization in Machine Learning. 
• Strong skills in 1 or more programming languages – Python,R or Java for machine learning applications. 
• Experience with at least one Data Science and Machine Learning Frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc.
• Experience with Setting up machine learning problem spaces and solutions using Time Series, Anomaly Detection, Natural Language Processing etc. 
• Evaluating performance and efficacy of Machine Learning solutions. 
• Interest to work on advanced machine learning concepts – neural networks, reinforcement learning etc. 

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related fields. Undergraduates must have completed their Sophomore year.
• This would be a full time role for 5 -6 Months
• Candidate needs to be onsite in Irvine, CA and work from office (3 -4 days)
