BI Developer

Purpose of the role:

The main purpose of this position is to understand the business requirements, source the necessary data from the Enterprise warehouse or other source systems (D365, excel etc), model the data and create Power BI reports and dashboards. (SQL, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate). The Incumbent will also be responsible for providing usable insight on the data to the business for the business to make decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding and documentation of business requirements
• Able to develop dashboards and basic analytics in Power BI.
• Develop utilizing various Microsoft technologies e.g. SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL,
• Deliver functional and defect-free components within the timeframe agreed and complying with the technical architecture and standards.
• Analyse BI requirements and plan development accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with regards to project plans, issues and timelines.
• Participate in improving the overall functionality of the various products.
• Participate in the planning and execution of the project(s).
• Research and apply new technologies, where appropriate.
• Deployments for Production and UAT
• High level of documentation skills when executing BI plans and solutions

Requirements

Education:

• Matric Certificate
• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or Recognised IT
• Microsoft MCSA/MCSE BI Certification or demonstrated experience

Experience:

• 3-5 Years years BI Development experience
• SQL Development (solid T-SQL experienced)
• SSIS, SSRS, SSAS (well experienced)
• Ability to create in depth and Complex ETL procedures
• Testing Processes and Techniques (DAST, SAST, Pen, DLP, etc.)
• Solid exposure and understanding of SDLC methodologies such as agile and waterfall
• PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI
