Tech Firefly is looking to hire a Data Analyst for our client's Payments Platform Analytics team. The team performs analysis and provides meaningful insights to stakeholders. As a Business Data Analyst, you will leverage your data extraction skills to provide data-driven insights and analytical and dashboarding support. You will work closely with the Product Analyst team and with many other Payments Platform stakeholders. Your role on the team is to help the team gain better insights, inform better decision making from the available data, and gather data for various regulatory reports.
Pay: $90,000 per year plus benefits
Location: Bay Area, CA (REMOTE)
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex queries and analyses to derive insights that help improve our products.
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable metrics and dashboards.
- Conduct repeatable and ad-hoc analyses to measure and interpret trends and inform stakeholders.
- Define, collect and track key business metrics for new and existing products and workflows.
- Document critical paths taken in workflow to create core processes, and capture best practices for managing data in the system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of analytical experience working with data to pull reports, identify trends and effectively communicate insights/recommendations.
- Strong SQL proficiency; experience extracting and manipulating data with query/scripting languages
- High level of comfort creating dashboards in Mode, Tableau or comparable software.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets modeling skills (e.g. pivot tables, macros etc.) and proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage projects and interact cross-functionally with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in dealing with users at all levels (technical and non-technical).
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience as a business/quantitative analyst in payments/finance.
- Ability to synthesize data into useful formats and bring actionable insights through effective communication.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, to meet tight deadlines in a high paced and dynamic environment.
- Comfort with engineering practices around analytical excellence (e.g., development of business requirements document, product requirements document, and design documents, checking in and reviewing code, etc.)
- Ability to identify workflow pain points, optimize, and scale processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Interest in aptitude in data, metrics, analysis, and trends.
