Business Analyst - Finance

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with strong technical capabilities and business acumen to support the Finance and Business teams in the UAE. This role will involve building and maintaining data pipelines, conducting in-depth analysis, and delivering and communicating actionable insights to drive financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to transform data into meaningful business recommendations.

In this role, you will:

• Access data, construct and manipulate large datasets to support planned analyses, using SQL, Python and similar tools.
• Data Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. Ensure efficient data flow from various sources into data warehouses.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Retrieve, clean, and analyze large datasets using SQL and other tools.
• Develop and maintain BI dashboards and reports to track key financial and operational metrics, providing regular performance updates. Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Collaboration with Finance Team: Work closely with the Finance Director and the finance team to understand data requirements and business objectives. Support financial planning and analysis activities by delivering key insights and variance reports.
• Optimization and Debugging: Identify inefficiencies in data processes and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues, ensure data accuracy, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide regular status updates.
• Communication and Documentation: Effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Document data processes, data models, and data pipelines for transparency and continuity.
• Data Quality and Governance: Help define key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive data governance through standardization and communication. Be responsible for data quality and the timely delivery of reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field;
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or data analysis,
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data warehouse solutions, and data pipeline design.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery) is preferred. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or R) is preferred.
• Knowledge of financial models and variance analysis is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail, business acumen, and a passion for data and continuous learning.
• Good analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to translate data and information into actionable insights and business recommendations.
