Job Description

Are you a data-driven leader with a passion for digital transformation? We’re looking for a Lead Data & Digital Engineer to shape our data strategy, oversee ERP data migration, and drive innovation through cutting-edge technologies like AI, machine learning, and automation.

Your missions:

🎯 Lead & Inspire – Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, architects, and developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
🎯​​​​​​​ Data Architecture & Engineering – Design and implement scalable, efficient data pipelines and architectures, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
🎯​​​​​​​ Digital Transformation – Lead the adoption of AI, machine learning, IoT, and automation to optimise business operations and enhance decision-making.
🎯​​​​​​​ ERP Data Migration – Work closely with data domain owners to identify, extract, and migrate data as part of an ERP system deployment.
🎯​​​​​​​ Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and product managers to align data solutions with company goals.
🎯​​​​​​​ Data Governance & Compliance – Implement best practices for data quality, security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills to be successful:

✅ Proven leadership experience in data engineering or digital transformation, managing technical teams.

✅ Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop).

✅ Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.

✅ Experience with ETL, API development, and real-time data processing.

✅ ERP & Data Migration experience, with knowledge of SAP & Excel-based data models being a plus.

✅ Understanding of machine learning, AI, data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau, Looker), and DevOps practices.

🔹 Sole UK national

🔹 Candidates but be eligible to obtain SC clearance

🔹 Will be required to be on site in Derby 3-4 days per week

🔹 Inside IR35 contract or permanent staff position
