Data Science Director

SWATX is seeking a strategic and visionary Data Science Director to lead our data science department and shape the future of data-driven decision-making within the organization. In this executive role, you will be responsible for defining the data science strategy, guiding the development of innovative analytical solutions, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. You will manage a high-performing team of data scientists and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to leverage data as a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data science strategy that aligns with the company's vision and goals.

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of data scientists, promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee the design and execution of complex analytical projects, ensuring the delivery of actionable insights that drive business performance.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to define key business questions and identify opportunities for leveraging data to gain a competitive edge.

• Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and machine learning techniques across the organization to enhance decision-making processes.

• Ensure the team stays current with the latest advancements in data science and technology, integrating best practices into workflows.

• Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data science initiatives.

• Represent the organization in industry discussions and forums related to data science and analytics, building a strong external network.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field.

• Proven experience in data science with at least 10+ years in the field, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing data science teams.

• Expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data modeling, with a strong understanding of various algorithms and tools.

• Demonstrated success in driving data science initiatives that have positively impacted business outcomes.

• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and familiarity with data analysis and manipulation libraries.

• Excellent experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for effective communication of complex data insights.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving measurable results.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels in English and Arabic.
