The Role

Our client operates where education and technology meet, dedicated to crafting personalized and innovative learning experiences that drive transformative score improvements for students. Their team, composed of passionate educators and technologists, is committed to enhancing lives through education.

As a Data Engineer enhance and support data infrastructure, specifically enjoy troubleshooting SQL and take the initiative to understand how the data structures from the application flow into Looker reporting.  As our organization continues to expand its data-driven decision-making capabilities, we require a skilled data engineer to optimize and Maintain Looker Dashboards & Data Models, support Data Governance & Quality, and enable Scalable Data Solutions

Responsibilities

  • To learn the complex, and often ambiguous, systems involved in academics reporting from a data engineering perspective.

  • The ideal person would enjoy troubleshooting SQL and take the initiative to understand how the data structures from the application flow into Looker reporting.

  • Optimize and Maintain Looker Dashboards & Data Models, support Data Governance & Quality, and enable Scalable Data Solutions
  • Meet with each of the primary stakeholders for each of the operations departments. Communicate promptly and effectively with each of them.

  • Learn the basics of querying data in Redshift.

  • Navigate the primary looker assets for the OPS department

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working with SQL databases, including query optimization and troubleshooting
  • 2+ years of experience working with at least one major BI tool (Looker, Tableau, or Power BI)
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing AI algorithms and data models 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python for data engineering tasks 
  • Experience with AWS Redshift

What we offer

  • Remote, full-time (40h/week). PST/EST/CST hours.
