About the role: 

Nintex is searching for an experienced Data Engineer to own & maintain Nintex’s data warehouse, backend data systems, and data replication platforms. This individual will shape the future state of Nintex’s internal data architecture, data strategy and ETL to help power our growth agenda.   

In this role you will help develop our data landscape and help us become more scalable and automated in our data processing. You will help us achieve this by developing our data platforms Azure Databricks, building datasets to enable analytics, creating and defining schema and overall data structure to align with best-in-class practices. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining expected security, privacy and data compliance related access/permissions. 

Your contribution will be: 

  • Continue refining our company data architecture, BI, analytics and Data Science platform for marketing, sales, product and business insight and optimization. 
  • Curate custom data sets from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing & sales techniques and business strategies.
  • Manage prioritization of data projects, including scoping and sizing projects and determining business justification/urgency.
  • Work with team members to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, cost saving, and new technology to better accomplish data needs
  • Gather requirements, iterate with stakeholders to genuinely understand their needs and how to best visualize their data, followed by design, deployment and on-going enhancements.
  • Identify data source gaps and help define the business tools and processes to begin capturing the right data to answer business questions.
  • Ensure a high-level of data quality and accuracy across all relevant data sources. 
  • Set up data quality alerting and communicate effectively when data quality is compromised.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.  
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to junior employees to achieve company and customer results.  

To be successful, we think you need:  

  • 7+ years of experience managing data warehousing solutions, creating data architectures and ability to autonomously manage data projects 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing ETL processes and data pipelines in a cloud environment, Azure strongly preferred
  • Strong Experience using the following technologies: Azure Databricks, Python & Pyspark
  • Hands-on experience with data replication and integration tools such as CData and Fivetran to automate and manage data flows.
  • Experience with data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Salesforce, Asana, Outreach
  • Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and schema design to ensure efficient and scalable data structures.
  • Comfortable working with version control systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Effective in working cross-functionally with data analysts, IT, and product teams to ensure data solutions align with business needs.
