Role reports to: Manager BI and Analytics
Location: Arnhem/Utrecht*
*We are moving from our current HQ in Arnhem to a new office in central Utrecht in the summer of 2025.

Purpose
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and detail-driven BI Developer to join our dynamic Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Microsoft Technology Stack, including Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, and/or Data Factory, to design, develop, and implement impactful business intelligence solutions. As a BI Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to transform complex data into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making and contributing to the success of our organization.
Activities & Responsibilities
- BI Solution Development: Design, develop, and deploy interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL Server, and other Microsoft BI tools.
- Data Integration: Implement ETL/ELT processes using Data Factory, ensuring smooth data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple sources.
- Reporting & Analysis: Develop and maintain Power BI reports for different business functions.
- Data Modeling: Design and optimize data models using SQL Server and Power BI, ensuring efficiency and performance.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with business users and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights through tailored BI solutions.
- Data Quality & Governance: Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with data governance standards across all BI reports and processes.
- Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize queries, reports, and dashboards to ensure fast performance and scalability.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest trends in business intelligence, data management, and Microsoft technologies to enhance the team’s capabilities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics or a related field;
- Hands on experience with the Microsoft BI Stack, including Power BI, SQL Server, Data Factory (SSIS);
- Strong SQL skills for querying databases and creating optimized reports;
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and database design;
- Experience with DAX, Power Query, and data modeling in Power BI;
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and workflows;
- Knowledge of Microsoft BI Azure Technology Stack;
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues effectively;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into actionable BI solutions;
- High attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of data and reports;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Nice to have, but not mandatory:
- Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure MI, Data Factory, or other cloud-based BI solutions;
- Familiarity with other BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau or Qlik;
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics and automation;
- Experience with Agile methodologies or working in an agile environment.
