Position Summary

The Director of Admissions Data Analytics and Regional Recruitment will play a key role in data analysis, scholarship projections, and budget management using analytics.  The Director will evaluate applications, advise prospective students on admissions and financial aid and guide matriculation.  Represent the school at events, manage outreach, and optimize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) functions.  Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to enhance recruitment and admissions efforts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the College of Law Assistant Dean to produce various analytic reports on demographic trends, market research, and enrollment to support data-informed decisions regarding marketing, recruiting, admissions, and financial aid.

  • Support the College of Law Assistant Dean with building annual scholarship projection models and admitted student projection models.
  • Support the College of Law Assistant Dean to manage the scholarship budget based on the use of data analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Conduct ongoing statistical analyses of the applicant pool characteristics with the College of Law Assistant Dean, compose executive summary reports regarding Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and Grade Point Average (GPA) credentials, financial aid needs, and other demographics related to the potential incoming class.
  • Assist the College of Law Assistant Dean with the preparation of annual internal reports and annual external U.S. News and American Bar Association (ABA) data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist the College of Law Assistant Dean to manage the scholarship budget based on the use of data analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Keep up to date on latest trends and practices within admissions and legal education.

Evaluate law school application files and render admissions decisions.

Advise and counsel prospective and admitted students on admissions and financial aid requirements and procedures.

  • Guide admitted students through the matriculation process and provide individualized counseling sessions on law school programs, curriculum, employment outcomes, and financial aid resources.
  • Respond to prospective students who visit, call, or email the College of Law, and conduct outreach to candidates who are admitted to the College of Law.

Represent the College of Law at admissions events, conferences, and professional organizations, promoting the institution’s reputation and attracting qualified applicants. Frequent attendance at on and off campus events during and outside normal business hours such as weekends and evenings is expected, as is frequent travel.

Support the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid with drafting and sending mass communications via email and other media while optimizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) functions by utilizing modern recruitment and marketing strategies.

Support the Director of Pipeline Programming, Outreach and Education in cultivating relationships with external partners including pre-law advisors and academic counselors to create and strengthen recruitment pipelines.

Manage admitted student engagement data using Law School Admission Council’s admission database (UNITE) enrollment system.

Work in a collaborative relationship with current law students, faculty, administrative offices, alumni, and university offices.

  • Attend meetings within the department, College of Law, and university.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team on events and initiatives to recruit students.
  • Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admissions.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in professional admissions work at a regionally accredited institution, including planning and implementing admissions programs, developing and implementing marketing and recruitment plans and strategies, researching and analyzing admissions data: professional experience in a specialized admissions area; making formal presentations; and working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a JD program from an ABA accredit school; at least five years' law school admissions experience or higher education experience; and demonstrated knowledge of law school admissions procedure.

Work Hours

Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with some weekend events required. Seasonal travel, including some weekend and overnight travel, is expected.
