About the Opportunity

The eResearch team works directly with researchers and research communities to accelerate and deliver uplift to the University’s research capability, quality and impact through the enablement of innovative technology adoption, advisory and consulting services and the provision of data science skills development via partnership and engagement. 

We are currently looking for an eResearch Analyst to support our research community through:

  • Skills development of researchers through delivery of face to face and virtual data science training sessions
  • 1 to 1 advisory on research computing infrastructure, research data management, data storage and technical skills consultations
  • Promoting the computational and data resources and services available to researchers and support use of those resources.

This role would suit people from a wide variety of backgrounds; you could have an IT background and enjoy working directly with clients to help them achieve their goals OR a research background with desire to expand and share your IT skills, experience and knowledge OR a research support or data focused candidate who is keen to lead innovation and problem solve. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience with: 

  • Fundamental information technology knowledge and skills
  • Intermediate R or Python coding 
  • Teaching in a live / virtual classroom or one-on-one setting 

Excellent communication skills along with the ability to critically analyse clients requirements and provide advice and solutions appropriate to unique situations will enable you to succeed in this position.  

Desirable:

  • Experience with Linux and command line
  • A knowledge of Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence will also be highly regarded.

Demonstrated understanding of the current Australian National eResearch Infrastructure landscape and current national activities for assigned portfolio area, including an understanding of the national capabilities available to researchers for storing, analysing and publishing their research data will be beneficial.  

Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights for the duration of this appointment and may be subject to a National criminal history check.

What we can offer

This is 14 month opportunity based at either Nathan or Gold Coast campus.  As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

HEW 8 Salary – Base range - $113,713.03 - $127,923.91+ 17% super. Full package range - $133,044.25 - $149,670.98.
