About The Role & Team
Amplitude is seeking a Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our Strategic Finance team. This role will be pivotal in building and maintaining executive dashboards, analyzing key financial and operational metrics, and ensuring consistent metric definitions and availability across cross functional teams, such as sales and marketing. You will collaborate cross-functionally with our CFO, executive leadership, Corporate Engineering, Sales Operations & Strategy, and Enterprise Data Insights teams to drive data-driven decision-making at scale.
The projects and initiatives that you will help lead:
- Develop and maintain executive and business dashboards in Tableau to track key SaaS metrics, financial performance, and operational KPIs
- Query and analyze data from Snowflake (via SQL) to support financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights
- Ensure consistent metric measurement, definition and availability across teams by collaborating with Enterprise Data Insights and Corporate Engineering
- Define ETL processes to aggregate production-level data and create a single source of truth for core metrics like retention, ARR, and attach rates.
- Write functional specifications for data models, metrics, and reporting frameworks to enhance analytics capabilities
- Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Support ad-hoc data requests from Strategic Finance, Investor Relations, and other executive stakeholders
- Maintain data accuracy and governance, working with teams such as Sales and Accounting to ensure data integrity
- Create documentation to preserve and communication metric calculation and definitions throughout the company
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have/are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in BI, data analytics, or financial analytics, preferably in SaaS, enterprise software, or a fast-paced tech company
- Strong SQL skills, with experience querying large datasets from Snowflake (or similar databases)
- Proficiency in Tableau, including dashboard creation, ad-hoc querying, and data visualization
- Experience with ETL processes and data pipeline optimization, particularly for financial and business metrics
- Ability to translate business and finance needs into technical specifications for data models and reporting frameworks
- Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to connect business concepts to actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ERP (NetSuite), CRM (Salesforce, CRMA), and revenue systems (e.g., Outreach)
- Understanding of SaaS financial metrics (ARR, churn, GRR/NRR, bookings to revenue) and experience supporting GTM, finance, or centralized BI/analytics teams
- Ability to quickly grasp SaaS business concepts and translate them into data-driven insights
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages for data automation
- Experience with dbt or ETL processes

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $116,000 - $174,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
