Bumble Inc. is looking for a visionary leader to drive the strategy, execution, and evolution of our data platform and analytics engineering capabilities. This role will be responsible for modernizing our data infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability, and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning across the organization.
This leader will oversee the full data engineering lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation to governance and accessibility—ensuring that our data ecosystem meets the highest standards of quality and performance. They will also establish best-in-class analytics engineering practices, empowering teams to derive actionable insights from a well-structured, governed, and efficient data environment.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned data leader with deep experience in cloud-based and on-premises architectures, data governance, and high-scale engineering systems. They will set the long-term vision for data at Bumble Inc., balancing technical innovation with pragmatic execution, and deploying resources to solve the most pressing business problems.

What you'll do;

• Lead and manage a cross-functional team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and platform specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
• Define and execute a strategic roadmap for the data platform and analytics engineering, ensuring scalability, reliability, and modern best practices across the data ecosystem.
• Modernize and streamline data ingestion, transformation, and storage, leveraging cloud-native solutions (GCP, Snowflake) while optimizing legacy on-premise infrastructure where necessary.
• Champion data governance, quality, and observability, implementing industry-leading standards for data reliability, lineage, and security.
• Develop and maintain tracking frameworks, experimentation infrastructure, and MLOps pipelines, enabling data science, machine learning, and product analytics teams to operate efficiently.
• Optimize data warehousing and cost management strategies, ensuring that Bumble Inc. has a well-structured, accessible, and cost-efficient data environment.
• Enforce best practices for data consumption and self-service analytics, enabling business teams to leverage trusted data for decision-making while managing query costs and performance.
• Foster a strong engineering culture, hiring, mentoring, and retaining top talent while creating clear growth opportunities within the team.
• Act as a thought leader for Data at Bumble Inc., partnering with senior leadership to shape the future of data strategy within the organization.

About you;

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform leadership roles.
• Proven track record in building and scaling data platforms, with deep expertise in data pipelines, warehousing, and governance.
• Hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data stack technologies, with familiarity in Looker, dbt, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Experience in analytics engineering best practices, including metric standardization, data modeling, and self-serve analytics enablement.
• Strong technical knowledge of cloud-based (GCP, Snowflake) and on-premises architectures, with experience optimizing for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide data transformations, re-establishing reporting, sources of truth, and KPI alignment at scale.
• You are an inspiring, engaging, and clear communicator, able to translate complex technical topics into strategic business impact.
• You thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities shift, and you can balance short-term execution with long-term vision.
• You have a strong automation and growth mindset, ensuring that teams build scalable, maintainable solutions rather than one-off fixes.
• You believe in data democratization and self-service analytics, empowering teams to make data-driven decisions at scale.
• You are deeply knowledgeable about vendor landscapes, data infrastructure investments, and the latest innovations in data technology.
