We have an exciting new opportunity for a Cloud Platform Owner to join our Technology Transformation team on an initial 6-12 month Fixed Term Contract.

The Cloud Platform Owner is a key role to drive the development our cloud platform offerings' strategic direction, development, and growth. This includes leading on building cloud environments and frameworks that support both CTO’s delivery support and maintenance of Data Products, OSS applications and AI/ML based products. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to define the platform's vision, roadmap, and priorities, ensuring they align with our business objectives and deliver maximum value.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

Take end-to-end ownership of the platform, acting as the primary point of contact for all cloud platform-related matters (public, private and hybrid) across CTO. You are trusted to uphold the company strategy and platform vision for cloud and to ensure high-impact and valuable output.

Work closely with the strategic teams, network and digital architecture teams, delivery teams, and enablement to ensure seamless execution of platform initiatives.

Senior Stakeholder Management, engage with SLT and director level stakeholders to capture strategic business requirements and translate into tangible, value driven solutions.

CTO Cloud Roadmap Planning: Develop and maintain a strategic cloud roadmap for CTO; a cloudification strategy that underpins our digital and network end state architecture (DESA / NWESA).

Oversee the CTO cloud platform backlog, prioritising requirements from across CTO directorates to develop cloud solutions that support the broader data and digital network strategy. This role is critical in driving ROI and enhancing EBITDA efficiency.

Collaborate closely with Cloud Architects and Cloud Platform Delivery Teams to develop a catalogue of Cloud Services, including Application Deployment, Data Services, and digital products, that support Insights, Analytics, and Digital Network Products.

Responsible for ensuring 24x7x365 operational support for all frameworks built by the Cloud Platform Delivery team, with a focus on optimisation, reducing costs, and ongoing maintenance.

Support Agile Portfolio Management by forecasting demand, capacity, and budget requirements to meet product needs across the function, aligning them with wider business objectives.

The must haves

• In-depth understanding and technical proficiency of data and application frameworks on cloud platforms, including containerization, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud providers, technologies, and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience in agile methodologies and project management tools, and a working knowledge of DevOps practices. Scrum or Product Ownership
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.
• Possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be able to translate vision into actionable plans.

The other stuff we are looking for

• Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud automation strategies, particularly in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) within enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of MLOps and AIOps principles, focusing on the integration, monitoring, and operationalization of AI and ML models at scale to drive value from data initiatives
• Proven ability to lead by example, share knowledge, and influence team members while managing coaching and performance within the engineering team.
