Role OverviewCI&T is seeking a skilled Python Engineer/AWS ML Ops Expert to join our nearshore team working on a project for our client in the mortgage technology sector. This role will focus on implementing and deploying intelligent systems that optimize the usage of expensive third-party verification APIs ($100s per call). You will build the infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making around API call sequences, creating "waterfall" strategies that minimize unnecessary calls while maintaining effective verification processes. Your work will directly translate data science models into production systems that generate significant cost savings.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and deploy machine learning models that optimize third-party API call sequencesBuild systems that can make real-time decisions on which verification services to call based on available dataDevelop infrastructure to track and analyze the effectiveness and cost of different API call strategiesCreate monitoring dashboards to visualize API usage patterns, costs, and optimization opportunitiesImplement and maintain data pipelines that capture call patterns and outcomes for continuous improvementDesign and build systems that can A/B test different API call strategies to determine optimal approachesCollaborate with data scientists to translate optimization algorithms into production systemsEnsure security and compliance when handling sensitive verification dataImplement logging and tracing systems to provide visibility into API call decision-makingDesign architecture that supports quick updates to call sequence strategies as models improveOptimize serverless architecture to support cost-efficient processing of verification workflows
Required QualificationsSolid experience in Python developmentSolid experience with AWS services (particularly Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, DynamoDB)Experience implementing systems that make real-time decisions based on data and business rulesStrong understanding of ML Ops practices and model deploymentExperience building monitoring and logging systems for API usageKnowledge of cost optimization strategies in cloud environmentsExperience with serverless architectures and event-driven systemsVersion control expertise (Git)Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)Ability to work in a collaborative, remote environment
