Job Summary:

North Stone is seeking a skilled and innovative Data Scientist with Business Intelligence (BI) experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science and advanced analytics, coupled with expertise in BI tools and techniques to deliver actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. This role is essential for translating complex data into meaningful business solutions and visualizations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning methods to uncover insights and trends.
  • Design and develop robust BI dashboards and reports to visualize data and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and ensure data solutions align with business goals.
  • Build predictive models and algorithms to forecast trends and optimize business performance.
  • Create and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure data is clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.
  • Utilize BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to transform raw data into visually compelling and interactive dashboards.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven strategies and solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in data science and BI.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret clearance required!
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data science and business intelligence roles.
  • Proven experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis and predictive modeling.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Expertise in data visualization and storytelling.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Solid understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in BI tools or data science (e.g., Microsoft Certified Data Analyst, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or AWS Data Analytics).
  • Experience in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific data and analytics trends.
  • Background in A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
