Job Description

We are embarking on an HR system implementation across Nine and searching for a seasoned Workday Data and BigQuery Analyst to deliver the data related activities of the project, ensuring a smooth transition of data from Nine’s legacy systems to the new Workday HCM Solution.

The Data Analyst will own the data extraction, cleansing, transformation activities to prepare data for load into Workday, including building out any relational models into BQ, as well as post-load validation activities as part of the Implementation. They will work closely with the Business and the System Integrator to ensure a successful data migration outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the data extraction, transformation and post-load validation activities as part of the HCM implementation. This will involve extraction from Source Systems into BigQuery

  • Work with the System Integrator and the Data Engineer to develop the data migration strategy 

  • Work closely with functional and technical teams to prioritise critical data for loading into Workday HCM

  • Work with relevant business SMEs to ensure that data is extracted from source applications into BigQuery, and subsequently provided to the System Integrator in the right formats to load into Workday

  • Work with business SMEs to ensure they sign-off on the data from a business perspective

  • Troubleshoot data issues and errors that occur throughout the various test load cycles and work with the business to resolve

  • Develop data cleansing strategy and plan

  • Partner with other parts of the business to develop corresponding data extract processes for migration

  • Raise and communicate any data related risks

  • Consolidate data extracts for migration

  • Make modifications to the data extraction files

  • Work with the business to review and validate data post load and obtain approvals as required

  • Build logic to map data from source to Workday format for migration

  • Create and update supporting documentation

  • Perform technical data validation

  • Assist with data cleaning initiatives

  • Partner with technical teams (e.g., integration, reporting) to support data feeds and reporting needs

  • Support the project team and business, building a trust relationship with ability to influence. 

Required Experience:

  • Background in data analysis and transformation 

  • Experience with Google BigQuery

  • Experience in leading the data stream as part of a software implementation, ideally HCM

  • Knowledge of HR data objects 

  • Ability to develop a fit-for-purpose data extraction and transformation strategy and execution plan

  • Ability to consolidate data from multiple source systems into the formats required for load into Workday

  • Ability to think outside the box, in an outcome driven approach

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Media industry would be advantageous

  • Experience in an ASX-listed company

  • Workday HCM experience or certification is a plus
