Safe Intelligence - this forms the core brand of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS. What you will do

At the Trustworthy Digital Health department at Fraunhofer IKS we develop explainable, robust, and trustworthy AI models and applications for medical prediction & decision support tasks. As part of the Health team, you will conduct research and work on collaborative projects with the aim to improve patient care through more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment options, ultimately improving health outcomes. 
Support us in this research as junior research scientist, actively shaping the research program. Collaborate with world-leading scientists, as well as with renown industry partners. Your results will come alive in products of leading companies and contribute to a safe future.

 

What you bring to the table

  • Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, medicine or similar.  
  • Knowledge in AI methods and in statistical analysis.  

        - Experience in developing AI models for time series data and/or medical image data considered a plus  

        - Experience in developing explainable, robust, and/or interpretable AI models considered a plus 

  • Strong interest and dedication to apply data science methods for concrete products in the healthcare sector.  

        - Experience in the healthcare sector considered a plus 

  • Programming experience (e.g. Python, C/C++, etc.).  
  • Communication and cooperation skills.  
  • Highly motivated with an independent way of working and a critical thinking mindset.  
  • Good language skills in German (C1) and English (C1).

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to 2 years.
