ABOUT THE ROLE
The Consumer Insights Manager is responsible for driving business strategies by providing actionable recommendations based on comprehensive guest, consumer, market, and product knowledge.
This role involves leading a team in acquiring, analyzing, and reporting actionable insights through advanced market research techniques and cutting-edge data science methodologies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in statistical analysis, big data, consumer behavior, and market research, and will effectively translate complex data into strategic business decisions. This position ensures the organization maintains a competitive edge through continuous tracking of brand equity, consumer preferences, and market trends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Insight Generation: Lead the design, execution, and presentation of quantitative and qualitative market research studies to uncover deep consumer insights and market trends.
- Advanced Analytics: Utilize advanced statistical methods, big data analytics, and data science techniques to analyze consumer and market data, providing actionable insights that drive business decisions.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with multi-functional business partners and executives to understand high-level business priorities, challenges, and opportunities, developing strategic recommendations and action plans.
- Market and Consumer Understanding: Ensure business teams have a superior understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and brand performance through continuous sharing of insights and identification of knowledge gaps.
- Data Visualization and Storytelling: Create compelling data visualizations and narratives to effectively communicate research findings and insights to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and strategic impact.
- Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership to the Consumer Insights team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with external research partners and vendors, ensuring the use of optimal research approaches to meet business needs.
- Design and execute comprehensive market research studies, including brand tracking, ad testing, segmentation, and market landscape analysis.
- Apply advanced statistical methods (e.g., regression, factor analysis, CHAID analysis) and data science techniques to derive insights from large datasets.
- Bring together various datasets into data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) to provide ease of access to stakeholders of brand reputation metrics
- Leverage big data tools and platforms to analyze consumer and market data, identifying trends and patterns that inform business strategies.
- Continuously track and analyze brand equity, providing insights into brand performance, market positioning, and competitive landscape.
- Monitor and report competitor activities, providing insights into market opportunities and threats.
- Develop and implement personal development plans for team members, providing regular coaching and feedback to support their growth.
Qualifications and Educations
- 6-10 years of experience in market research or data analysis
- At least some comfortability in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Strong background in statistical analysis, big data, and data science techniques.
- Experience with market research tools and software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python). PowerBI experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing and mentoring team members.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and research budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, data science, market research, or a related field; MBA or Master’s degree is a plus.
