ROLE

The Associate Director of Statistical Programming will contribute to run the programming department efficiently in managing statistical programmers, managing properly the assignments of resources, ensuring utilization is effective, ensuring high quality deliverables are delivered to clients and timelines agreed with clients are met. The associate director of statistical programming will ensure programming activities on clinical projects are adequately conducted according to standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements and meeting clients requirements. The associate director will bring leadership including governance of clients to ensure needs are identified and answered appropriately. 

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Provide leadership and support in the planning of resources, priorities and timelines needed to achieve project goals.

  • Ensure programming teams use adequately systems and tools, apply processes and produce deliverables following regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and participate to statistical programming activities when required.

  • Provide leadership support in the identification of changes in project scope and potential risks to contractual delivery.

  • Identify areas for efficiency/process improvement and development of associates via training, mentoring and coaching.

  • Support and participate actively in recruitments and interview processes.

  • Support in motivation of resources, communicates expectations and issues to resources.

  • Support in the identification, escalation and resolution of project and quality issues.

  • Support in the resolution of customer complaints.

  • Support in maintenance of contractual and other project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Represent Alira Health Statistical Programming during external and internal audits.

  • Support with business development purposes related to Statistical Programming.

  • Supporting the management in reviewing baseline estimations and project plans.

  • Conducts operational activities as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc/MSc or equivalent with experience, preferably in Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics

  • Excellent SAS programming skills

  • Knowledge of R language is a plus

  • Extensive and proven experience as statistical programmer and lead statistical programmer 

  • Broad understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the clinical development process 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCES & SOFT SKILL

      • Excellent knowledge of essential regulatory guidelines worldwide 

      • Experience with resource management 

      • Excellent written and spoken English 

      • Good computer skills, with proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

      • Good organization, time management skills and attention to details 

      • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
