We are looking for a

Lead Data Engineer

The position is in a DevOps team responsible for state-of-the-art analytics solutions, leveraging machine learning, statistics, and streaming analytics. Our solutions analyze IoT data from millions of elevators and escalators, benefiting technicians and customers globally.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for data modeling and building scalable data pipelines. You will also lead the development of APIs for serving analytics insights across various operational and analytical use cases, while managing data modeling requirements with internal API users. Experience in API management is an advantage.

We value a can-do attitude and experience in running production systems as part of a DevOps team. The ideal candidate has experience in data observability, test automation, and software engineering best practices. You naturally share knowledge and support others, and you’re comfortable admitting when you don’t have all the answers.

The position is located in Espoo, Finland, with visits to our main R&D site in Hyvinkää twice per month. Remote work is allowed, but you’re expected to be in the office three days per week on average.

We work with a modern cloud-based architecture, utilizing AWS and Databricks. 

In order to be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Degree in either software engineering, data engineering, data science, computer science, physics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
  • SQL and data modelling skills
  • Programming experience (in Python and Scala) 
  • Experience in running production workloads
  • Our working environment is multicultural so English is a must 
  • Current tech stack in the team is: DBT, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, AWS Athena, Spark, Databricks, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, Terraform, Gitlab CI
