The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
 

Pay Range: $118,000.00 - $194,800.00

Job Description

The People Analytics Manager is responsible for overseeing a dynamic People Analytics team that is dedicated to generating data-driven insights, understanding the talent lifecycle, and driving transformational change within the organization. This role involves managing a team of talented analysts and data partners to support evidence-based decision-making and enhance the overall effectiveness of the organization’s strategies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Leads, inspires, and mentors a team of People Analytics professionals to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Sets clear goals, provides regular feedback, conducts performance evaluations, and identifies development opportunities for team members.

  • Promotes a culture of learning, diversity, and inclusion within the team.

  • Ensures data governance by administering and following policies/guidelines for providing and securing sensitive or confidential WGU information.

People Analytics Strategy:

  • Develops and executes the overall People Analytics strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and People & Talent initiatives.

  • Identifies opportunities to leverage data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and optimize talent-related processes.

  • Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices in people analytics and incorporates them into the team's approach.

Data-Driven Insights:

  • Works closely with stakeholders across various business functions to understand their analytical needs and deliver actionable insights.

  • Utilizes data visualization tools and techniques to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner to drive organizational understanding.

Talent Lifecycle Analysis:

  • Analyzes talent acquisition, performance management, talent development, and employee retention data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborates across People & Talent to ensure data accuracy and integrity across all talent management systems.

Business Problem-Solving:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address critical business challenges through data analysis and strategic recommendations.

  • Develops predictive models and scenario analysis to support workforce planning and talent forecasting.

Change Enablement:

  • Drives the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization, empowering leaders to make informed choices backed by analytics.

  • Supports change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of People & Talent initiatives and transformational changes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ensures proper training of team members, and participates in hiring, firing, and promotion decisions. Conducts performance reviews and may recommend salary reviews.

  • May complete assignments that are technical in manner in addition to supervising others.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Data Science, Human Resources, or related field.

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in People Analytics or HRIS, which includes 1 year of supervisory experience.

  • Deep proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI/Tableau, R, Python).

  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and stakeholder management.

  • Familiarity with HR technology systems and databases (e.g., HCM, ATS, LMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Human Resources, or related field.

  • Experience with Workday Reporting, Discovery Boards, Prism, etc.

  • One or more Workday Pro certifications is an added advantage.

  • People Analytics, PHR or other HR certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Occasional travel for team and/or department meetings.

Experience in lieu of education 

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements.  Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is at the discretion of the hiring manager.
