Job Purpose
The Quantitative Risk Manager manages various quantitative-based credit risk management activities, including the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), economic capital modelling, enterprise-wide stress testing (EWST), scorecard & risk rating system development, and credit risk model development. They support the company's goals and protect the assets, members, and reputation of Coast Capital.

 

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of an effective Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing Program through scenario definition, model implementation, and analysis of results.
  • Coordinate model operation, perform analysis and write reports for the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process.
  • Manage various credit risk model enquiries by running the credit risk models and generating the risk estimates required by internal stakeholders and external reviewers.
  • Transfer knowledge to and serve as a resource for all capital model stakeholders in the organization.
  • In charge of handling Coast's Economic Capital Models and Stress Testing models. This involves overseeing the model programming, writing model documentation, analyzing data, and creating risk reports for Coast's ICAAP and Risk-Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC).
  • Promote and foster model risk management activities across the enterprise by explaining, advising, and training stakeholders on what the model is doing with the activities, documentation, and explanations.
  • Present analysis of findings to stakeholders.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-8 Years of Job-Related Experience. Demonstrated experience in quantitative credit risk analytics, scorecard or credit model development, and enterprise-wide stress testing.
  • Master's degree in quantitative subjects and/or Financial Risk Manager certification (FRM) is preferred.
  • Significant experience in Python programming language.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial quantitative modelling and statistics.
  • Advanced proficiency in software applications, including MS Office.
  • Proven ability to prioritize initiatives and manage time and resources appropriately.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to audiences of various 
  • Proven organizational andpracticale multi-task skills with the ability to manage projects and deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Can spot problems and act on them. Gathers information carefully and solves complex issues. Seeks advice when needed, focuses on the root of a problem, and confidently tackles and resolves conflicts quickly.
  • Well-developed ability to exercise sound professional judgement.
  • Maintain a high awareness of industry and regulatory standards and trends to model credit risk appropriately.
  • Engage positively and build constructive and mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues.
