We are looking for a Director, Enterprise Data Management to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the CIO and will be based in San Jose, California. This is a fully on-site, in-office role that will require working with colleagues across the globe and in different time-zones.
The Director, Enterprise Data Management will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives by partnering across departments and technology teams to define and implement the data strategy and governance with the aim to improve data quality, manage master data and cultivate data stewardship.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Creates and develops business use cases demonstrating advantages of automation and use of foundational data management techniques.
- Collaborates with technology teams to incorporate data architecture principles to increase consistency and interoperability of data across the enterprise.
- Improves data literacy and advocacy of using and contributing to a single source of truth across the enterprise.
- Ensures master data integrity in key systems as well as maintaining the processes to ensure high data quality. Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
- Understands data management and data governance practices and how to implement and manage it across an enterprise.
- Understands regulations on the collection and use of data (such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA) and how this impacts data management, processes and information security.
- Understands Data Governance and controls to ensure adherence to policies.
- Inspires and engages teams; creates forums for likeminded groups of data analysts and data scientists to foster learning and engagement.
- Experience in project management across functional teams and international company locations.
- Streamlines data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics.
- Identify and meet data users at company locations that may involve minimal domestic and international travel.
Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years experience in data management, analysis and systems architecture or software engineering.
- Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in data warehouses, data lakes and other relevant systems.
- Experience working with domain structures; conceptual, logic and physical.
- Experience with financial systems will be a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in information management, data management, computer science or related field or equivalent experience preferred
