  • The MDM data steward plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of master data within the Perkin Elmer business ecosystem.
  • The MDM data steward is needed to support data quality assurance efforts, adherence to data governance, data integration across diverse systems and departments, maintenance of metadata and MDM documentation, train and support associates on established MDM governance policies and resolve data-related discrepancies and conflicts.
  • Core attributes within the scope of the MDM data steward function include product value, pricing, language, classification, product information, plant data, sales data, storage data, material group, and hierarchy.
  • The MDM data steward is essential in ensuring the reliability and usability of master data at Perkin Elmer which is critical for dynamic and informed decisions around operational efficiency related to our business systems.

Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Management: Contribute to on-going cleansing and maintenance of customer data by driving data entry standards for formatting, completeness, and accuracy for attributes within the customer and product master.
  • Data Governance: Developing and enforcing data governance policies and standards to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory (where applicable) requirements.
  • Data Integration Oversight: Responsible for ongoing data quality initiatives such as research, match/merging and various aspects of data cleansing to remediate issues identified while ensuring there is a single source of truth in data synchronization.
  • Metadata Management:  Maintaining and managing metadata, including definitions, data lineage, data ownership, while promoting greater understanding of the importance behind MDM governance.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support regarding data management tools, processes, best practices while fostering a culture of responsibility in data stewardship.
  • Issue Resolution: Serve as a point of contact within assigned geography, for data related issues, and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies related to master data.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor master data for quality issues while generating reports to keep key stakeholders informed about data quality metrics.
  • Change Management: Manages changes to master data (updates, deletions) while ensuring MDM governance is adhered to.
  • Continuous Improvement: consistently on the look-out for opportunities to improve master data management processes and contributes to ongoing MDM initiatives that enhance data governance policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide day-to-day support to cross-functional internal and external customers as related to customer accounts which includes legal entities, locations and contacts data elements and attributes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degrees in fields such as information technology, data management, business administration, computer science, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data quality, data integration and data analytics is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills facilitating assessment of data quality issues, identification of root causes and countermeasure development.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a constantly changing environment and adapt easily.
  • Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies related to MDM governance.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, EBX and SAP.
  • Previous experience in a Master Data Management (MDM) or Data Steward role a plus.
  • Must have strong English language skills in addition to other European-based languages.
