We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

Candidate will be involved in AI related research and development activities. This includes working closely with IT architects, ITBA Product teams, IT Infrastructure Operations, and Cyber Intelligence and Security teams to evaluate new tools and technologies, develop proof of value (POV) solutions, and implement AI solutions within Dominion Energy’s private cloud environment. Under general supervision, works on fairly complex programs and performs systems design. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs to meet business requirements. Guides and advises less experienced Programmer Analysts.

 

Responsibilities:  
•    Evaluate Generative AI solutions from a functional, technical, and risk standpoint
•    Development and implementation of Gen AI solutions to solve complex business problems and enhance operational efficiency.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows.
•    Collaborate with architects and systems analysts to design, code, test, and deploy modular and scalable AI solutions.
•    Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of AI solutions by following coding best practices and performing thorough testing and validation.
•    Stay current with industry advancements and continuously seek opportunities to improve AI capabilities within the organization.
•    Responsible for building effective working relationships and making sound decisions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 3+ Years of experience in programming and systems analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in GenAI or AI/ML application development.
  • 1+ years of experience in DevOps deploying Cloud hosted solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL development.
  • Proficiency in developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience in developing Generative AI applications including RAG architecture.
  • Experience in working with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
  • Demonstrated competency in analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. 
  • Understanding of IT security best practices.
  • Self-starter who has ability to operate independently over assigned objectives.  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple, competing projects. 
  • Ability to maintain technical proficiency via self or formal training.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
