As an NPU Architect, you'll play a critical role in designing and optimizing next-generation computing systems that can efficiently handle complex machine learning tasks. Your expertise will help shape the future of AI computing, enabling the development of smarter, more efficient electronic devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Architect AI Software: Develop Intel's AI software from the ground up, encompassing the entire software stack.
- Technical Guidance and Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight during the development process, ensuring high-quality results.
- Software Structure and Validation: Define software structure and validation strategies for AI solutions, ensuring they meet technical requirements.
- Machine Learning Model Translation: Translate machine learning models and data processing techniques into functional software.
- AI Software Development: Develop AI software to address applied problems in diverse fields, such as data analytics and computer vision.
- Technical Roadmap Development: Lead the exploration and establishment of technical roadmaps for AI software development.
- Collaboration and Feasibility Assessment: Collaborate with industry technologists to assess requirement feasibility and prioritize development tasks.
A strong candidate will demonstrate knowledge in:
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of parallel processing, memory hierarchies, and compute efficiency for AI workloads.
- Low-Level Performance Analysis: Experience with low-level performance analysis and optimizations for hardware accelerators.
- Neural Network Acceleration: Familiarity with quantization, sparsity, and mixed precision techniques for neural network acceleration.
Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in:
- AI architecture, hardware design, or performance optimization.
- Deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, OpenVINO) and their computational graphs.
- AI accelerator architectures (e.g., NPUs, TPUs, GPUs) and their execution models.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or a related field.
- Experience in:
- Defining hardware features for AI accelerators.
- AI accelerator and computer architecture.
- Knowledge of:
- Model compression techniques, distillation, and efficient AI inference.
- Emerging AI workloads and trends in foundation models, LLMs, and generative AI.
- Strong programming skills in:
- C++.
- Python.
- AI-related performance profiling tools.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:
$149,750.00-$211,420.00Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
Work Model for this Role
