Working Student within Web App Development and Implementation (d/f/m)

SDPB is part of the Digital Customer Services unit of Airbus Commercial Aircraft developing and offering digital solutions to Airbus’ aircraft customers boosting the efficiency of operating their Airbus aircraft. The developed digital solutions are powered, amongst other, by a wealth of real time and historic air traffic analytics intelligence, which is generated by real time big data and AI pipeline processes hosted in the cloud. 

Definition working student

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Development of a web-based demonstration app for the real time air traffic analytics capabilities and implementation for mobile use.

• Exploring hosting options for the demonstration app either on the Airbus-owned and operated cloud platform Skywise (AWS based) or on the Airbus-owned and operated cloud platform AirSense (MS Azure based). 

• Interface with our DEVOPS team on cutting edge real time air  traffic analytics data stemming from latest of big data and machine learning cloud implementations. 

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full time student within Information Science or similar field of study

• Hands-on proven experience in web app development (demonstration examples of previous own developments welcome!)

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Java Script or equivalent

• Knowledge of backend programming languages (e.g., Python, NodeJS Java Script) 

• Understanding on integration of APIs into web applications

• Experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and understanding of how to interact with them using queries and APIs

• Understanding on specificities of implementation of mobile (progressive) web apps 

• Mastery of UI/UX needs and access ergonomics would be a plus

• Experience in graphic design principles and implementation would be a plus 

• English: fluent mandatory

• German: optional
