🤔 Who are we and why do we do what we do?

We are a data and payments company on a mission! We’re a group of developers, financial experts, and optimists who share a vision for improving the financial wellness of people, their businesses, and their communities.

We do this by powering businesses through our APIs and PFT solutions as well as our own personal financial management app for consumers.

We can only do that by being an inclusive and diverse organisation. We invest in our people, and enjoy an environment focused on innovation, collaboration and openness.

Requirements

👀 Sounds great right? What will you be doing?

You have some qualifications in the Data Science or Data Analyst field and are looking to gain some professional experience in the field.  The role will predominantly be data labelling (>=80%); however, there will be opportunities to help shape how we go about the labelling process, the measurement of precision/recall, identifying scope for future improvement and learning a little abut our Python based Data Science stack (Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, Numpy, scikit-learn, AWS SageMaker).Roles and responsibilities:

  • Allocating categories to banking transaction data (fields include: date, description, amount) to form a ground truth data set.
  • Using contextual transaction data, e.g. transactions before and after, to help inform the correct category to assign.  As an example a salary is more easily identified by the fact a similar amount is paid each month at the same time.
  • Working with Data Scientists in the team to determine how to approach labelling exercises as a sequence of projects: e.g. income labelling, essential bill labelling etc.  to ensure work remains focussed and improvements can be attached to future packages of work to be completed by the team.
  • Measuring the accuracy, precision and recall of our solution using the ground truth data sets generated by the labelling.
