Data Engineer Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer Intern to join the Insights, Digitalization & Analytics department. The ideal candidate should be passionate about data and technology, and have a strong desire to learn and grow their skills. As a Data Engineer Intern, you will work with our team of data engineers to build and maintain the data infrastructure that supports our company's data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, develop, and maintenance of our data pipelines and data warehouses across cloud (Microsoft Azure) and on-premise environments.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to improve the performance and scalability of our data infrastructure and ensure data quality and integrity across the data platform.
• Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines and data architecture.
• Create and optimize interactive dashboards to visualize business metrics.
• Conduct research and provide recommendations on new technologies and tools that can be used to improve the data infrastructure.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or a related field (specialization in Software Engineering is a plus).
• Knowledge of data warehousing and familiarity with big data platforms, cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in Python programming, SQL and PowerBI.
• Experience with ETL tools, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
• Strong data analysis, data verification and problem-solving abilities.
• Analytical, meticulous, and team player.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across teams.
• Self-motivated and possess initiative to learn new skills and technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS services (a plus)
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and Databricks platform (a plus).
