About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist with deep crypto-native experience to join our product and data science team at OKX. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of data science, product strategy, and growth. You’ll work closely with product managers, marketers, and executives to uncover actionable insights, build data-driven tools, and drive global user and revenue growth.   We’re seeking someone who not only works fluently with data at scale—but also understands the dynamics of crypto, has a product mindset, and can influence strategic direction through clear, compelling insights.   If you’re an entrepreneurial data leader who’s not afraid to propose bold ideas and roll up your sleeves to bring them to life, this role is for you.  

What You'll Be Doing:

• Strategic Partnership – Serve as a trusted advisor to product and growth teams, using data to shape product roadmaps and business strategy.
• Decision Intelligence – Execute advanced analytics to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and influence prioritization.
• Experimentation & Standards – Define and scale best practices in experimentation, modeling, and analytics across teams.
• Storytelling with Data – Craft clear, impactful narratives that bring data to life and influence decisions at every level of the organization.
• Business Metrics Leadership – Define, monitor, and evolve key product and growth metrics to measure impact and performance.
• Automation & Scale – Build scalable tools, dashboards, and data pipelines that enable faster, deeper insights across the org.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship – Guide and mentor other data scientists; foster a strong data culture across product and engineering teams.

What We Look For In You:

• Education & Experience
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • 7+ years in data science or analytics, with at least 3 years in crypto or fintech
  • A proven track record of driving measurable product or growth outcomes using data
• Technical Expertise
  • Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals, token economics, and CEX/DEX user behavior
  • Expert-level SQL and proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling
  • Hands-on experience with experimentation frameworks, predictive modeling, and advanced statistical techniques
• Leadership & Communication
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence executives
  • Strong data storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex analyses into clear takeaways
  • Experience mentoring and developing high-performing data teams
• Cultural Fit
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Able to operate across time zones and collaborate with global teams

Nice to Have:

• Experience at a leading crypto or fintech company
• Familiarity with global growth strategies or international market dynamics

OKX Statement:

The salary range for this position is $198,000.00 to $328,708.00. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
