Job Description

The Team
The Senior Manager at Jora will report to a Jora leadership team member overseeing cross-domain functions. This role collaborates closely with teams across product, design, engineering, marketing, operations, and commercial functions to drive data-driven decision-making. Leading a distributed team of ~8 analysts, engineers, and data scientists across Australia and Malaysia, you will play a key role in shaping Jora’s data and analytics strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Data & Analytics strategy, driving valuable business outcomes and results
• Lead a distributed team of ~8 direct reports across Australia & Malaysia, ensuring high performance and engagement
• Oversee key data & analytics decisions for the Jora product experience, balancing customer insights with strategic priorities
• Collaborate on OKRs setting and support the execution of relevant data & analytics work
• Lead ongoing measurement, analysis, and recommendations relating to customer & business data
• Ensure a robust understanding of jobseekers and employers needs to drive high-quality decision-making
• Work closely with other Jora leaders to maintain a consistent, cohesive experience across the product domain
• Advocate for consistent ways of working and advance data & analytics strategy across delivery streams
• Hire and develop data engineers, analysts, and scientists as required across APAC

Qualifications

The Role & Key Responsibilities
Senior Data & Analytics Manager (commensurate with experience) is responsible for the strategy & execution of data & analytics across Jora – with a focus on;

People, Team & Culture Leadership

Building a strong team culture, where unblocking business stakeholders with high-quality data & insights, and where team cohesion & outcomes are valued greater than individual contributions. 
Leading & further strengthening an established high-performing team, with continuous coaching on best practise data & analytics, raising the profile of this team in the org.

Data Strategy/Vision & Practice Leadership
Setting an inspiring vision for how the digital analytics function will partner with, support & unblock the broader Jora team with data & insights
Leading the delivery of the data & analytics vision at Jora (design, planning, implementation and optimisation) through strong leadership of the data-engineering & data-science teams to design, plan and implement effective data-tracking, storage, pipelining, enrichment, and BI tools
Being a strong advocate for driving the best customer outcomes, with data-informed decision making within the business

Data Engineering
Taking a hands-on approach to leading our data-engineering team to establish, optimise and scale our data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehouse management, data models, reverse ETL services, ML Dev Ops.

Product Analytics
Taking a hands-on approach to leading our product analytics team to establish & strengthen a close partnership with business stakeholders, enabling seamless data informed/driven decision making with easy self-serve access to accurate and meaningful product data & insights, and also expert guidance & capability.

Data Science
Taking a hands-on approach to leading our data science team to raise awareness and adoption of ML supported product & services, and embedded experimentational frameworks with math & stats support to build confidence in results.

You will work closely with other functional leaders to design, plan, and execute quarterly OKRs – and proactively inspire and motivate your team, and the broader delivery teams 

Essential skills and experience
 

• Data & Analytics Expertise – 5+ years of experience across data engineering, product analytics, and data science, with strong SQL, Python/R skills, statistical analysis, and database optimization knowledge. Experience with tools like Redshift, GA4, Tableau, and Google Ads.

• Leadership & Agile Mindset – 3+ years of team leadership experience, driving analytics practices, managing multiple priorities, and working effectively in agile environments with a test-and-learn approach.

• Technical & Analytical Strength – Ability to handle large, complex datasets, conduct multi-variant experiments, derive statistically significant insights, and contribute to database discussions with engineers.

• Effective Communication & Influence – Strong storytelling and stakeholder management skills, able to translate data into actionable insights, engage diverse teams, and drive business impact through influence.

• B2C & Cloud Experience – Preferably experienced in B2C products and familiar with cloud-based data platforms like AWS and Databricks.
