Job Description

Are you passionate about leading teams and ensuring high-quality data annotation in an AI-driven environment? We are seeking an Annotator Team Lead to coordinate and optimize annotation workflows, working cross-functionally with multiple teams. This role will oversee both internal and external annotators, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and seamless collaboration with engineering, data science, and AI research teams.

As the Annotator Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in structuring annotation processes, maintaining data integrity, and aligning efforts with business and technical goals. In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage the annotation team, ensuring high-quality and efficient data labeling for AI model development.
• Coordinate workflows between internal annotators, external vendors, and cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, data scientists, and product teams.
• Develop and implement annotation guidelines, best practices, and quality control measures to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor performance metrics, optimize processes, and provide feedback to improve annotation efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with AI and engineering teams to ensure annotated data meets project needs and model training requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, align priorities, and ensure timely delivery of annotated datasets.
• Oversee training of new annotators and support ongoing skill development within the team.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges, ensuring smooth execution of annotation projects at scale.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in team leadership, project management, or data operations, ideally in an AI, data labeling, or ML-driven environment.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple annotation workflows simultaneously.
• Experience working cross-functionally with AI engineers, data scientists, and external annotation vendors.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to align teams and drive efficient execution.
• Knowledge of annotation tools, data labeling platforms, and quality assurance processes is a plus.
• Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality and consistent annotations.
• Ability to problem-solve and optimize annotation processes for scalability and efficiency.
• Experience with AI/ML datasets, data quality management, or a background in data operations, content moderation, or similar fields is preferred.
