Your expertise will help us push the boundaries of what is possible with AI and drive innovation in our products and services.Research Scientist, Monetization Ranking AI (PhD) Responsibilities
- Perform research on large capacity model efficiency.
- Developing novel algorithms and techniques for efficient training and deployment of large-scale models.
- Investigating new architectures and paradigms for scalable and efficient model design.
- Explore the application of emerging technologies such as quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, or other non-traditional computing paradigms.
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners including communicating research plans, progress, and results.
- Produce and present publications that influence the progress of AI or Machine Learning in relevant research communities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and contribute towards Meta's research product development.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Research experience in Machine learning, Artificial intelligence, and optimization algorithms.
- Experience with large-scale machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with large scale AI systems, including but not limited to distributed computing frameworks (e.g. Pytorch) and high performance computing architectures (e.g. GPU)
- Experience with Python, C++, Cuda, Triton, or other relevant languages.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
- Demonstrated research and software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
- Experience with large capacity model training and deployment (e.g., distributed training, model parallelism)
- Experience with scalable machine learning systems, resource-efficient AI data and algorithm scaling, or neural network architectures.
- Experience with GPU acceleration techniques (e.g., Cuda, Triton)
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, MLSys, CCS, IEEE S&P, or other similar venues
- Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
- Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
