The Adobe Firefly Applied Science & Machine Learning (ASML) group is looking for a Firefly model architect specialized in customizing our image and video GenAI models to solve creative marketing use cases and delight our enterprise customers. We are seeking experienced candidates with hands-on experience in visual generation model training (image and video generation and editing). We are looking for candidates with strong expertise in the GenAI research field, as evidenced by peer-reviewed academic publications.

As a Firefly model architect, you will join an outstanding team of applied researchers and engineers in building the future of digital experiences. You will help set the long-term technical strategy and work across multiple applied research teams in different geographies to architect the GenAI solution pipeline for enterprise marketing workflows. You will be empowered to drive training data strategy, make architecture decisions, prioritize model training experiments, and architect the solution pipeline. You will have the opportunity to develop novel ideas to advance the creative marketing world through shipping features in Adobe's marketing products such as Firefly services, GenStudio, and beyond.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work across different teams as a tech lead to set the technical direction for the future.
  • Convert research ideas/papers into code in Python and typical machine learning development toolkits.
  • Collaborate with outstanding researchers and engineers to bring research ideas to production.
  • Conduct applied research and development in visual GenAI models for enterprise marketing use cases.
  • Develop enterprise-specific applications based on the Firefly foundation models for Adobe marketing products.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior team members.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate and tell stories to convey technical visions within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent technical leadership skills, with experience in leading a large number of contributors on time-sensitive and business-critical GenAI projects.
  • Experience in state-of-the-art Generative AI technologies, such as GAN, diffusion, and transformer models.
  • Strong hands-on experience with GenAI model training.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working in a matrix organization, driving alignment, drawing conclusions, and getting things done.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience and deep understanding of the nature and development phases of GenAI research.
  • Experience working with product teams on technology transfers and in fast-paced production environments.
  • A good publication record in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related fields.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $193,900 -- $362,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
