Job Description:
If you love numbers and have a good analytical mind, this position represents an exciting challenge for you. You will thrive in a dynamic team whose mandate is to analyze operations, revenue, and claims at TD Insurance. You will be asked to build automation, create dashboards, and produce insights using data to assist internal stakeholders. These analyses will allow you to work with a team of dynamic professionals who understand and define different business needs in line with strategic initiatives within TD Insurance. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain end-to-end BI deliverables independently by leveraging various analytic tools to support performance management, operational effectiveness, and insights generation.
- Represent as a subject matter expert on a given business domain and provide business expertise to place context around analytics discovery for decision making and risk mitigation.
- Perform thoughtful analysis, translate data into insights, and answer business questions (hypotheses, testing, data gathering, analysis, story building, and communication to stakeholders).
- Interpret analytic outputs and data by using visualization to illustrate business trends/insights and identify areas of business opportunities.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business pain points and provide evidence-based suggestion or business strategy.
- Provide consultative advice to guide analytics developments through regular communication with business partners/stakeholders that define business requirements.
- Actively assess, innovate, and improve internal business analysis solutions with automation.
- Work in partnership with various functional areas to provide day-to-day support and delivery of analytics.
- Educate business partners and build awareness on how to interpret the data and analytics to drive decision making that will move the business forward.
- Ensure data/metric accuracy and adequate procedure documentations; develop validation method to minimize any potential errors.
- Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary.
- Foster a culture with data literacy and analytics; develop and influence colleagues with best practices in data visualization and business intelligence.
- Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.
- Bachelors or master's degree in actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Business Science, Computer Science or any other relevant discipline (if combined with relevant experience)
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Strong coding skills in SQL and Python; master Excel functions (VBA an asset)
- Highly developed analytical skills and acumen, with focus on quality reviews
- Over 3 years of experience with data visualization tools including Tableau and PowerBI
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to convey through presentations such as PowerPoint to both technical and non-technical audience.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work both independently as well as in a team.
