The Role

As a Senior Data Scientist in our rapidly growing Technology Group, you will provide technical contributions in developing innovative solutions for the next generation of Production Automation and Advanced Process Control. We are looking for sharp, disciplined, and highly quantitative individuals who have a passion for playing with complex data and cutting-edge technologies, in all its forms, including data mining, mathematical modeling, operation research, optimization, and expert systems. You will leverage your skills and passion for Machine Learning and AI to drive AspenTech’s process control and optimization strategy by developing ground-breaking software.

Your Impact

  • Provide technical contribution and collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and software developers to develop new machine learning applications for the supply chain and manufacturing industries.
  • Collaborate with customers, product managers and technical staff to develop technology strategies to promote continuous innovation in our Production Automation and Value Chain Optimization offerings. 
  • Investigate new and developing technologies as they appear in industry and academia and determine how to leverage these new technologies into our software applications.
  • Provide thought leadership and represent AspenTech at industry and academic meetings and conferences.
     

What You'll Need

  • Master’s in computer science, Engineering, Operation Research, or a related major; PhD preferred.
  • Deep knowledge in advanced process control.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics and software development/programming with one or more of Python, Julia, Matlab, C++/C and C#. 
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, semi-supervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, time series analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, cognitive computing).
  • Demonstrated ability to use scientific research to deliver value to customers. 
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to details.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred/Plus:

  • Knowledge of operations research, chemical/manufacturing supply chain management.
  • Knowledge in non-linear programming, optimization, multivariate analysis.
  • History of publishing research and innovation outcomes in the ML field .
  • Familiarity with LLM, generative AI, ML-Ops, Graph Knowledge, and cloud technologies.
