Our Data Science and Machine Learning teams are essential to building solutions that drive our platform and business forward. As a Director of Data Science, you will lead a team of Engineers and Data Scientists to develop innovative machine-learning solutions that enhance our technology and user experience. Your leadership will shape the future of our platform, leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve complex challenges and push our business to new heights.

What you’ll do as a Director, Data Science Engineering

  • Deliver high-impact presentations using storytelling and data visualization to clearly convey progress, challenges, and business impact to executives.

  • Translate a strategic vision into actionable, detailed roadmaps that drive technical innovation and operational excellence across all domain areas.

  • Build, mentor, and lead cross-functional teams of Data Scientists and ML Engineers, ensuring a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.

  • Drive the adoption of MLOps practices, automated experimentation frameworks, and scalable infrastructure to support high-impact data science solutions.

  • Act as a key liaison between your team and other critical functions including Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations to ensure integrated solutions that support customer-centricity and operational efficiency.

What you’ll bring   

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to develop high-performing teams.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to guide project execution.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL, and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  • Ability to monitor and improve the performance of deployed models and applications.

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.

We’re a publicly traded (NASDAQ: DKNG) technology company headquartered in Boston. The US base salary range for this full-time position is 220,800.00 USD - 276,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The compensation information displayed on each job posting reflects the range for new hire pay rates for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
