Summary
This Master Data Management Lead role requires a data expert with a passion for driving business transformation at scale. This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our master data strategy, ensuring that our vendor, customer, product, and other master data domains enable seamless operations across supply chain, sales, and finance. You will lead high-impact projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to optimize our data landscape. This senior leader plays a crucial role in ensuring data accuracy, governance, and integration across various systems, while implementing best practices. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen.
The salary range for this position is $143,000 - $215,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

This position is based at Corporate Headquarters in Salisbury, MD.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops strong partnership with the master data business leader and team, managing senior business stakeholders to secure strong engagement and ensuring that the delivery of projects and services align with long-term strategic roadmaps
- Leads the implementation of the MDM Platform (Syniti) across Perdue Farms, designing for One Perdue and deploying in alignment with strategic initiatives
- Accountable for internal and external technical teams during execution. This person is the escalation point and partners with the master data business leadership to remove blockers
- Defines, implements, and monitors compliance to configuration, workflow, architecture, integration, access levels, and quality standards. Translates high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards
- Builds and integrates information systems to meet the company’s needs across multiple domains or subject areas. Partners with the master data business team to translate business rules into data quality rules and produce effective data controls
- Assesses current systems architecture and works with multiple technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it. Resolves complex technical problems as they arise
- Provides supervision and guidance to multiple development teams. Executes new master data initiatives and projects providing input on scope and representing business-driven master data interests with counterparts in IT
- Continually researches current and emerging technologies and proposes changes where needed
- Informs various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assesses the business impact that certain technical choices have
- Assists stewards and data owners in analyzing root cause of data quality issues
- Prepares and provides tailored updates to stakeholders at all seniority levels
- Works with multiple Project teams to construct logical and physical designs that stay true to enterprise Reference model and define technical data lineage. Ensures data lineage for each master data domain is up to date. Drives future state vision for Perdue
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, SW engineering, computer science, or related field.
Experience Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with 10+ years focused on master data management. CPG and cross functional leadership experience
- At least five years of experience leading master data programs and teams involving complex and large cross functional, business transformation initiatives, data modeling, and data analysis for enterprise initiatives. Deep understanding of master data concepts, including data domains (e.g., vendors, customers, products, materials)
- At least five years of experience with Syniti or equivalent modern multidomain Master Data Management and Data Governance tools (Including hands-on experience). Strong knowledge of SAP ECC, S/4HANA, or other ERP. Product/Material, Customer, and Vendor Data Domain implementation experience
- Proficiency in data governance & quality, including data cleansing, validation, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance. Familiarity with data lakes, ETL processes, APIs, and middleware for integrating master data across systems
- Experience leading MDM implementations, data migrations, and system upgrades while managing risks
- Ability to translate business needs into data requirements and optimize data flows for better insights, effectively implementing data-driven decision making
- Experience leveraging AI/ML, RPA, or scripting for data cleansing and validation
- Knowledge of Data Privacy, Compliance, and Industry Standards applicable to the CPG and Agricultural industry affecting master data
- Understanding of role-based access and data protection within MDM, ERP, and cloud environments
Experience Preferred
- At least 3 years of people management experience
- CPG Industry Knowledge: Understanding of CPG-specific challenges like supply chain complexity, omnichannel retail, and regulatory compliance. Live operations (e.g. Poultry) is a strong plus
- GDSN/GS1 standards and master data enrichment through 3rd party data sources
- Familiarity with Azure, Dataiku, and Power BI or equivalent tools
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
