Position: Automation Process/Business Analyst
Reporting to: Head of Operations Automation and Efficiency
Location: York/Colchester/Lisbon
Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the office
The Team:
The Strategic Intelligent Automation and Efficiency area gives support for the current operations and frees our people from the repetitive work by using technology so they can focus on our customers and not our systems. The team are the link between the business and the technology teams, ensuring that technology change is prioritised, defined, broken down and delivered in a way that supports the business to achieve its strategic goals, while also enabling the technology strategy. This means knowing the whole context of the change, and having a sharp focus on value so that we can ensure both that we’re doing the right things, and doing the things right. As such, we are looking for excellent cooperators; people who excel at building relationships, who are not afraid to challenge how things are done, and are able to drive consensus and guide people through every stage of the change journey, from idea to reality.
About you
You’ll be an experienced Automation Process/Business Analyst who is business savvy and collaborative, someone who enjoys working with Business Sponsors, Project Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Technical BA & Engineers and other required stakeholders to plan and execute analysis activities to delivery valuable outcomes for the business.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of project and value stream outcomes on our UK Change portfolio, giving you broad exposure to how the UK business operates, from the front line through to the back office functions and the technology that supports our ability to deliver superb service to our customers.
You will work closely with business units and IT teams to identify automation opportunities, implement solutions, and monitor performance to drive digital transformation.
When not working from home, the role can be based in either Lisbon, York or Colchester.
What you’ll be doing
Identify, assess, and document business processes suitable for automation
Analyse process inefficiencies and recommend automation strategies.
Collaborate with IT and development teams to design and implement RPA and workflow automation solutions.
Building a strong understanding of end to end user journeys & processes, their supporting technologies
Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams.
Provide training and documentation for employees on new automation processes.
Communicate automation benefits and best practices to stakeholders.
Accurately and efficiently elicit, challenge, and document scope, processes & requirements. All while bringing the end user/s along the change journey
Producing high quality business and technical analysis deliverables, including but not limited to, user stories, functional and non-functional specifications, ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process models for automation.
Ensuring the traceability of requirements and user stories throughout the entire change lifecycle
Applying best practice and insights that challenge the business to think about the “right” solution
Maintaining a close working relationship with Project Management, PMO, Product Manager and IT colleagues and working with them
Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and troubleshoot automation failures.
Monitor automation performance and identify areas for enhancement.
Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Along with your BA colleagues, implementing continual improvements to ensure that we are constantly evolving how we do Business Analysis
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure automation success.
Generate reports on process efficiency, cost savings, and error reduction.
Provide insights and recommendations for further process improvements.

Technical Skills:
Experience with RPA tools (UiPath & Microsoft Power Automate).
Understanding of business process modelling (BPM) and workflow automation.
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, SQL, VBA) for process automation.
Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in automation.
Proficiency in data visualisation tools (Power BI) for reporting.
Our nice to haves
Financial Services/insurance industry experience
BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent qualification
Experience:
Previous experience in business process analysis, automation, or workflow optimisation’s
Experience with RPA tools and process mapping software.
Knowledge of Agile and project management methodologies is a plus.
