R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.

We are looking for a Senior Lead Data Scientist to join our Technician Assistant team, responsible for developing an AI tool that helps technicians fix elevators faster by analyzing technical documentation, historical service records, and IoT data. Available 24/7, it identifies root causes and provides clear recommendations.

The role is located in Espoo / Hyvinkää Finland. We work in a hybrid model so there’s possibility to work remotely couple of days a week.

This is a fixed-term position until December 31, 2025.

In this role, you will

• Build, evaluate and optimize the core logic of the AI tool

• Develop the Python backend 

We welcome candidates with

• MSc/BSc or equivalent knowledge in computer science, AI, machine learning, or related technical field

• Hands-on experience in developing AI/ML systems

• Experience with prompt engineering techniques like few-shot prompting, structured outputs

• Proficiency in Python

• Experience in CI/CD and DevOps

• Good communication and collaboration skills in English

• Can-do attitude with a growth mindset
