What will you work on?
The Purchasing & VMD Analyst role is primarily to manage the Vendor Master Data and Purchase Order process and ensure timely processing of Vendor and PO requests to setup, change, or delete. Review the supplier set up forms for completeness and compliance, set up new suppliers or change existing vendors in SAP according to the Vendor Master Data SOP. They are responsible for the review of transactions in SAP purchasing module such as creating purchase orders.

How will you create impact?
This position requires detailed understanding of Procure to Pay (P2P) processes, systems, and policies. For example, accounts payable, invoice to purchase, order matching, payment / expense processing, vendor onboarding. The role is responsible for maintaining the internal control environment and proactively ensuring compliance and efficiency in the P2P area.

Key tasks include:

  • Review supplier set up forms, set up new suppliers or change existing vendors in SAP according to the Vendor Master Data SOP.
  • Provide internal customers with guidance and training with regards to Vendor Master Data policy and process.
  • Assist with external and internal controls for Vendor Master Data.
  • Provide data and root cause analysis to support continuous process improvement.
  • Provide helpdesk support by responding to e-mails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responsible for transactions in SAP purchasing module such as creating purchase orders and change requests.
  • Lead financial tracking, monitoring, and reporting of Purchase Orders.
  • Lead tactical support and other tasks related to Purchase Order management process improvement.
  • Lead end user training related to PR/PO compliance.
  • Assist with global external and internal purchasing audit inquiries and ensure control compliance as necessary.
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analysing, and summarising data and trends.
  • Analyse necessary documents (requisition, vendor selection, contract, etc.) and processes requests as quickly as possible while respecting governance rules and controls
  • Proactive communication between the various departments of issues and progress.
  • Keep information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
  • Facilitate an open and collaborative communications with global teams that promote continuous improvement and standardized processes.
  • Support other functions in the P2P team as holiday and emergency backup.

How will you fit into the team?
This role reports to the Procurement Enablement Lead.

What are your skills and experience?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar faculty
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in an accounting and or procurement function
  • Strong analytics and big-data management capabilities
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel: (incl. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s)
  • Experience with SAP ERP preferred
  • Experience in an international environment preferred
  • Excellent level of personal organisation, collaboration skills, and effective verbal/written communication skills in English (Required)
  • Strong team player, able to work in a virtual, global team in a matrix organisation with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and work with senior managers
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills to prioritise projects and multitask.
