You will be hands-on developing critical platform capabilities with cutting-edge GenAI technologies, building reusable and extensible platform services, and ultimately bringing GenAI to the day-to-day of 2.2M Walmart associates worldwide.

What you'll do...
- Contribute to the design and development of platform features with microservices (React, React Native, Node.js, Java, Spring Boot) and event-driven (Kafka, SSE, WebSocket) architecture.
- Uphold the engineering and operational excellence standards and embrace automation.
- Work cross-functionally with business, product, data science, front-end engineering, and data engineering teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
- Integrate various data structures using Cosmos DB, SQL Server, and GraphQL APIs.
- Emphasize the importance of data security with sensitive data and access control.
- Implement feature flags, CI/CD with automation, ensuring high operational excellence for 99.99% uptime and sub-second API responses for P90 metrics.
- Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML technologies and trend - acting as a thought leader for GenAI/ML Engineering within the organization and in the broader technical community.
- Collaborate with applied researchers and data scientists to bring cutting-edge GenAI research into application.
- Support production operations for critical and high impact applications.
What you'll bring:
- Strong expertise in platform integration skills using React, React Native, Node.js, Java, and Spring Boot, Python.
- Proficiency in working with different data structures using Cosmos DB, Graph DB, SQL Server, Kafka event topics, and GraphQL APIs.
- Version control using Git in collaboration settings.
- Proven track record of ownership and delivery.
- Experience with developing GenAI-based applications using skills such as Prompt Engineering, RAG, etc.
- Experience with feature flags, CI/CD automation, shift left principles.
- Experience with large-scale data pipelines in online advertising, recommender systems, e-commerce, or relevant areas.
- Emphasis on data security with sensitive data and access control.
- Ability to communicate technical work to senior/executive leaders in both technical and non-technical settings.
- Proven programming skills using standard ML tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA, and related framework and libraries.
- Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design and ability to translate product requirement into engineering blueprint.
- Experience with common ML model serving framework, especially for NLP models/applications. Familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystem a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
