Team mission

At GetYourGuide, we're looking for a passionate Data Scientist to join our Supply Data Products Team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our product and our customers' experiences. You'll work in the supply domain, where you'll utilize structured and unstructured data to drive the success of our activities. Employ advanced data science techniques and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance the quality and appeal of our free-text activity content, providing travelers with richer and more accurate structured information. Collaborate with business partners and other teams to identify key drivers of activity success, steering both existing and new inventory towards optimal outcomes. Join the Supply Data Products (SDP) team, where we are passionate about creating impactful data products that help suppliers deliver unforgettable travel experiences. We leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) for free-text generation and defect detection, maintaining high content quality standards for activities on our platform. By optimizing structured information, we ensure travelers can easily discover the experiences they seek. We also empower our business teams with innovative lead discovery tools to prioritize growth opportunities, creating a seamless and dynamic marketplace that sets new industry standards. 

As a valued member of our inclusive and dynamic team, you will collaborate closely with fellow Data Scientists and MLOps Engineers, continuously innovating to enhance the relevance and personalization of the products we display. Together, we strive to make every travel experience unforgettable.

You will:

• Develop innovative data products that not only delight our customers but also drive the success of our company.
• Take full ownership of projects, guiding them from the initial business challenge to the deployment of production code. This includes:
• Contribute to the development of our machine learning infrastructure and help establish best practices that will shape our future.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging your unique perspective to solve complex and exciting problems.
• Support the continuous improvement and growth of our team, including participating in recruiting efforts to bring in new talent.

Who you are

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience in most of the following areas:

• Machine Learning Familiarity with regressors, classifiers, and recommender systems. A solid understanding of ML techniques and their practical applications. Experience deploying ML models in production is a plus.
• Familiarity with prompting and chaining LLMs, like ChatGPT, and deploying them in production systems, such as agent-based workflows or RAG, is advantageous.
• Software Engineering Proficiency in Python. Knowledge of distributed machine learning and computing frameworks (e.g., Spark) is beneficial.
• Analytics Ability to transform data into actionable insights. Experience with hypothesis testing and proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., pandas) and SQL.
• Business Acumen Applied experience in a business environment, demonstrating result-driven work and stakeholder management skills.
• Academic Background An advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
